Mural for the action “Aquí antes había un muiño” carried out by the bookstore Galgo Azul.
More info: The project “Aquí antes había un muiño” (presented by Galgo Espazo Cultural) was one of those chosen by the Deputation of Culture of A Coruña to receive one of the awards from the Fund to support unique cultural projects for social improvement.
The initiative revolves around the old mill of A Gramela, a symbol of Agra do Orzán for two centuries, with the aim of rescuing forgotten stories and involving the local community in the enhancement of history and common heritage.
Through a wide-ranging programme (artistic murals, workshops, discussions, routes and even an exhibition) the project promotes the participation and collective memory of people of all ages and backgrounds.

The inspiration comes from the memory workshops in Galgo Azul, where the memory of the old mill was revived in every conversation.
There, the neighborhood evoked that place that, for decades, was a meeting point and thread that intertwined the lives of the neighborhood. And, although the mill is no longer part of the landscape of Agra do Orzán, its soul remains present.
